A colleague at Victoria University in Melbourne just alerted me to your campaign to save Philosophy at Greenwich. I hope that you have won, or if not, that you are still fighting. Joanne Finkelstein was once ‘Executive Dean’ of our faculty at VU, so I have some inkling of what you are up against. I am currently on long service leave, but would be happy to circulate any news of your campaign to my colleagues when I return to VU next month. Dr John Tully, Melbourne

Looks as though Joanne Finkelstein has been moved on from University of Greenwich although, in her view, she has been poached by another institution – and yet nobody seems to know what institution this might be. Whatever the case, at least U of Greenwich no longer has to suffer at the hands of this person. She is, in my view, wholly unsuited to run anything at all; and that is putting it mildly. If any other academic institution has taken leave of their senses and has decided to employ her – bonne chance! And there are plenty of people who can tell you what to expect….

Joanne Finkelstein turned up at the University of Southern Queensland in Australia in late 2012 – the third choice from a field of four candidates – as Head of the then School of Management and Marketing. Her female ‘friend’ from Greenwich has apparently been getting plenty of part-time work and is in line to receive a newly created marketing position 😦 By the end of 2013 there had been the exit of all of the longer term Human Resource and Management academic staff (over 100 years of academic service to USQ), as well as three personal assistants within the 2013 academic year. It appears that her past incompetency is still very active but she survives because the group she has joined are of equal ilk 😦

The “Fink” is no longer at the University of Southern Queensland. After her rein of horror, she has jumped on her broom and taken flight to another Australian University. This is evidence that the recruitment process is never perfect.

A nice Christmas present for staff at USQ, but not so nice for the fresh set of victims! Do you know where she went?

Thanks for the update! It’s really fascinating to track the movements of the “Fink”!
